Tickets are on sale for a new show celebrating 1960s music that is coming to Burnham-On-Sea this June.
The new show has been put together by multi-award winning act ‘The Zoots’ who have been performing 1960s music for nearly 20 years.
In a new concept where ‘the audience decides’, the audience will be invited to vote for their favourite 60s band from The Beatles, The Who, The Stones, The Kinks, The Monkees, The Small Faces, The Beach Boys and The Searchers to go through to the next round.
Jamie Goddard, singer and founder of The Zoots, says: “We have dedicated much of our career to performing 1960s music and we wanted to come up with a way of involving our audience even more.”
The Zoots frontman performed some of his first ever shows in Brean, Highbridge and Weston Super Mare at venues around 20 years ago and has gone on to take his band The Zoots to an impressive 35 countries since.
Jamie adds: “There is something special about coming back to Somerset where I first started and I have played nearly all the small venues working my way up the ladder. As I have family here, I was in the area a lot and coming back to Burnham on Sea brings back so many wonderful memories.”
The 1960s Talent show is presented by Lauren Potter, who has previously worked on Sky TV. She introduces each act with the style of classic Variety shows, also singing iconic hits from Dusty Springfield, Cilla Black, Nancy Sinatra and keeping the audience entertained between each act.
Lauren says: “I can’t wait to be up on stage to present the 1960s Talent show singing some of my favourite songs and in the theatre, which is my happiest place.”
Tickets for the 1960s Talent show on 20th June are on sale from The Princess Theatre Box Office on 01278 784464 or via www.thezoots.com
