A BURNHAM-On-Sea family started the New Year with a shock, when a stray firework caused a blaze at their home just twelve minutes into 2008. Two fire engines from Burnham were sent to Wildes Close on Tuesday morning (January 1st) when the fire was spotted within the cavity wall of a house.

VANDALS attacked a house in the centre of Burnham-On-Sea on Saturday evening (November 24th), smashing the front window of the property. The elderly owner of the house in Oxford Street was left "shaken" by the incident which occurred around 4-5pm, according to neighbours.

PONTINS has confirmed that its Brean holiday park could soon be sold to a new owner. The holiday firm confirmed to Burnham-On-Sea.com that it is in talks with another holiday firm about a possible sale. SIX members of a Burnham-On-Sea church waded into the sea near the town's jetty on Sunday morning (September 30th) to be baptised in a special ceremony. Many Burnham Community Church members get baptised each year, but they usually choose a pool.

Vandals attack seafront seats
'Senseless' vandals have attacked a seafront shelter in Burnham-On-Sea, causing hundreds of pounds of damage. Several wooden benches have been broken and smashed opposite the Sailing Club at the southern end of The Esplanade. "Three of the brand new seats have been senselessly attacked," said a spokeswoman.
'Senseless' vandals have attacked a seafront shelter in Burnham-On-Sea, causing hundreds of pounds of damage. Several wooden benches have been broken and smashed opposite the Sailing Club at the southern end of The Esplanade. "Three of the brand new seats have been senselessly attacked," said a spokeswoman.
