A TEENAGER who smashed into a car carrying three children, causing his own car to overturn, has escaped a jail term. Christopher Seabourne, 19, of Trevenna in Mark admitted dangerous driving during an appearance at Taunton Crown Court on Friday.

Town music marathon today
A MUSIC marathon is to be held at a Highbridge church today (Saturday, January 21st) to raise money for a local youth project. The 12-hour event begins at 10am at St John’s Church. It will include music from more than 20 performers throughout the day to raise cash.

A HIGHBRIDGE man who stole £27,000 of shopping vouchers has had his jail sentence cut from 20 months to 12 months at the Court of Appeal in London (pictured). Jamie Neil Short, from Main Road in Highbridge, was jailed at Taunton Crown Court in October last year.

HELICOPTER, Coastguard and lifeboat crews have practised rescuing people from a boat during a night-time training exercise in Burnham-On-Sea. An RAF Sea King helicopter flew in to take part in the drill, which also involved the Arco Dart dredger in the River Parrett.
