Charity fundraisers to hold Highbridge Zumbathon this Saturday

-

Two charity fundraisers from Burnham-On-Sea will be holding their third event of the year this Saturday (March 23rd) when members of the public will be welcome to join them for a zumbathon.

Nicola Noad, from Sparks Way in Highbridge and Tamara Ellis, from Highbridge Road in Burnham, have decided to take on 12 challenges in 12 months, to help 12 charities and raise their target of £1,200.

They have teamed up with Burnham’s DanceFit Studio and qualified instructor Rhianne to hold a charity Zumbathon to raise money for Save the Children.

“All ages and levels of fitness are welcome – we will be having breaks and you can stop as when you need to,” said Nicola.

The event will be held at Highbridge Community Hall in Market Street, Highbridge on Saturday 23rd March from 6.30pm-8.30pm.

Tickets cost £6 per person and can be purchased via the group’s website here.

They will also be raising money for Weston Hospicecare, Secret World Wildlife Rescue centre in East Huntspill, the RNLI, Weston’s Freewheelers and Children’s Hospice South West. Other groups benefiting will be Save the Children, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Cancer UK, Meningitis UK, Sport Relief, Alice Escapes and a charity which is currently being set up called Bottle Stop.

Nicola added: “While trying to get fit we wanted something to keep us motivated and have something to aim for. The challenges are relatively small ones, but still quite challenging for us. We hope as our fitness improves this year, next year we shall continue this project and our challenges will get bigger and better.”
