Youth organisation holds first anniversary celebration in Burnham

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s Mayor and Carnival Queen were among the VIPs who led a first anniversary celebration for a local youth organisation at the weekend.

Somerset Time For Youth, a charitable group based in West Huntspill, supports and provides activities for youngsters with learning difficulties.

Its volunteers celebrated their first year of operation on Saturday (11th April) at Burnham’s Baptist Church in College Street with a day of activities.

Highbridge singer Gypsy Watkins performed during the event and Burnham’s Mayor Martin Cox also made a special speech with Carnival Queen Abbi Fear.

Jane McPherson, Chair, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Since starting a year ago, the group has built up and now has new premises at the Balliol Hall in West Huntspill with over 20 members aged 0-18.”

“We offer sporting activities, such as football, alongside themed fun weeks including storytelling, magicians and craft activities.”
