Burnham-On-Sea youth club to welcome YouTube pop star for concert

Burnham-On-Sea’s Zone Youth Club is to hold a fundraising pop concert featuring an online star.

Rich Cottell, a YouTube pop star and pop artist, who has sung as a support act for several chart-toppers, is giving a concert in Burnham-On-Sea on Tuesday 14th March.

Rich, 24, has supported acts such as Olly Murs, The Wanted and Conor Maynard, and is now on a UK tour of venues and schools.

He helping Burnham’s Zone Youth Club which meets every Tuesday at the Bay Centre after school for 11-16 year olds.

The club was due to close last year, however a group of parents and the youths themselves fought the closure and have managed to form their own management committee and raise their own funds to keep it running.

During the evening The Esplanade Fish Bar will be helping raise funds and giving away free meals for the youths. After this, the club will be giving away a free meal for two to a youth member who is the ‘Star of the Month”.

Campaign organiser David Sinclair said: “The concert is a way of thanking the youth for their support in what has been a traumatic few months for them with the threatened closure.”

“We want to provide great experiences and support for the local youth in the community. Rich is a great role model and someone who can really engage with the youth.”

Tickets for the concert at £3 each and can be purchased by contacting zone_youthclub@yahoo.com or through the school office at King Alfred’s School.
