A budding young magician from Highbridge performed at the auditions of ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent at the weekend.
Martin Masterman, 16, travelled to Cardiff to perform card tricks at the auditions for the hit TV show.
“He did really well,” his mother Joy told Burnham-on-Sea.com. “It was filmed in front of two producers who said they couldn’t work out how he did his trick!”
“He has to wait until next February to find out if he’ll get through onto the show.”
Martin, a former King Alfred School student, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It’s been exciting to be taking part.”
“I applied to the show back in July so it was quite a shock to get an email out of the blue inviting me along to the Britain’s Got Talent auditions in Cardiff!”
He added: “I’ve always loved magic and have been performing card tricks with the help of YouTube.”
“I’ve learnt some great tricks and have been getting some great reactions from family and friends at college and previously at school.”
The last local person in the Burnham-On-Sea area to take part on the TV show was young Brent Knoll singer Gracie Wickens-Sweet who reached the semi-finals in 2015.
