Bird watchers in Burnham-On-Sea are all a flutter after a rare Yellow-browed Warbler was spotted on the town’s seafront.
The bird appeared on the South Esplande, between Quantock Court and Burnham Holiday Village, in recent weeks.
“It breeds in Siberian Tiaga and should be spending the winter in the Nepal, India or Bangladesh regions of the world,” local bird expert Andrew Slade told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“The bird has been present since December 6th 2006 and was still present on Wednesday (January 16th). Although not exceptionally rare, it is a very uncommon visitor to Britain.”
