New chapter in yarn bombing craze hits Burnham-On-Sea Library!

-

The yarn bombing craze extended into Burnham-On-Sea Library at the weekend when dozens of books got colourful decorations.

The Princess Street facilities allowed a group of local anonymous yarn bombing enthusiasts to use the library for the unique event.

Yarn bombing was first seen in Burnham in 2013 when a seafront shelter was decorated before Marine Cove was also yarn bombed last year.

“Over 60 donated books were decorated with colourful stripes and designs as part of the ongoing craze,” Burnham Library Supervisor Nathan Crook told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“The group wanted to do something unique and we were only too happy to get involved.”

“It has increased awareness in the library and brought in extra people to see the display.”

The unique craze has been popular in other parts of the UK too where public places have been adourned with multi-coloured artwork to bring a smile to visitors’ faces.
