A Burnham-On-Sea lifeboat was launched on Monday evening (September 3rd) to help a yacht that had lost power in the River Parrett.
Burnham RNLI’s Staines Whitfield lifeboat was called out just after 7.30pm when the yacht was spotted drifting in difficulty in the middle of the river estuary.
“The yacht’s crew were apparently visitors to the area, their engine had cut out, and due to the fast diminishing light they had requested assistance,” an RNLI spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
The yacht was safely towed into the River Brue and moored on the Sailing Club’s pontoons.
