A busy weekend of Christmas events is lined up to take place in the Burnham-On-Sea area this weekend. We’ve highlighted some of the key events below:
Residents will be able to enjoy an evening of festive Christmas cheer at a carol service and concert in St Andrew’s Parish Church in Burnham at 6.30 p.m. for 7 p.m. on Saturday 14 December, organised by the Rotary Club of Burnham.
Santa comes to Highbridge’s Apex Park! Following the success of last year’s event, the Friends of Apex Park Improvements Group are once again running a Grotto in the Apex Park Office on Saturday 14th December from 10am until 2pm.
A Christmas Concert featuring the King Alfred Concert Band, Churchfield Voices and King Alfred School Brass group. The concert will be held on Saturday December 14th at St John’s Church at 7pm. Tickets on door £4 and children accompanied by an adult are free.
Snow White and The Magnificent Seven will be performed at Burnham-On-Sea’s Princess Theatre on Saturday December 14th by Curtain Call. There will be a 3pm matinee and a 7pm evening show. Ticket prices start from £8.50 and can be purchased from Curtain Call’s studio by calling 01278 238087 or on the door.
West Huntspill Railway host the Santa Train! Taking place on Saturdays and Sundays from 12-4pm on December 14th, 15th, 21st and 22nd. £5.00 for children and £2 for adults to include refreshments, by appointment only. To book your trip call Ashley Edwards 01278 794304.
Christmas Fair at East Huntspill Village Hall on Saturday December 14th from 9-12. Stalls, Santa, food, a tombola, crafts and more!
A Christmas Farmers’ Market and Bazaar at Brent Knoll Parish Hall on Saturday December 14th, 10am-noon.
Burnham and Highbridge Choral Society will be singing festive songs at Sanders Garden World in Brent Knoll on Sunday December 15th 12.30pm-2.30pm.
Santa will be setting up a grotto at Bessie’s Sweet Shoppe in Burnham High Street on Saturday December 14th from 11am-2pm. £3 admission includes a gift from Santa with all proceeds going to Burnham Lions Club good causes. See Santa again at the shop on December 23rd.
A Christmas table-top Sale is to be held on Sunday (December 15th) at the Burnham Area Youth Centre. The event will run between 9am and 2pm with a wide range of goods on sale. There will be a visit by Santa, plus the opportunity to enjoy tea and toast and buy the Echo Burnham film.
Burnham’s annual Christmas Tree Festival continues at St Andrew’s Church. The trees are on show to the public from 10am-4pm each weekday until Christmas Eve, along with a chance to see the church’s life size crib scene.
A Xmas Craft Fair will be held on Saturday December 14th at The Ritz in Victoria Street from 11am-3pm. Sellers £5 per table and free admission for visitors. Tel 01278 785365.
