The winners of Burnham and Highbridge’s annual Christmas lights competition have received their prizes this week.
Mayor Martin Cox handed over the trophies and certificates before the Town Council meeting on Monday evening (February 3rd).
In Burnham-On-Sea, the best house award went to 1 St Christopher’s Way while the runner-up is 9 Ashcott Place. In Highbridge, the best house award went to 25 Smith Way with the runner-up 26 North Avenue.
And the top award in the best-decorated business category, judged by Cllr Dennis Davey, went to Highbridge DIY in Market Street while Secret World in Burnham’s Victoria Street was the runner-up. The award for the best group of illuminated houses has gone to the homes of Burnham’s Trinity Close.
Cash prizes were awarded for best individual display (£25, cup and certificate), runner-up individual display (£10 and certificate), best group entry (shared shield and certificates). There was also a prize for the best business window (£20, cup and certificate) and runner-up business (£10, cup and certificate).
