Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge’s annual Christmas lights competition gets underway this week – with residents being encouraged to illuminate their homes.
The Town Council is inviting residents across the two towns to enter the contest, which will be judged by a group of town councillors.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the best displays in several categories – best individual display (£25, cup and certificate), runner-up individual display (£10 and certificate), best group entry (shared shield and certficate) and best business window (£20, cup and certificate) and runner-up business (£10, cup and certificate).
Only those properties which have been specifically entered the competition will be judged and to enter, email the Town Council at lorna@burnham-highbridge.org by 12th December or write to Mrs Eileen Shaw, Burnham & Highbridge Town Council, The Old Courthouse, Jaycroft Road, Burnham, TA8 1LE.
Cups and shields for the winners will be engraved and held for a year. They will be presented at January’s Town Council meeting on 9th January, 2012.
