A busy weekend of Christmas events is scheduled to take place in the Burnham-On-Sea area this weekend. We’ve highlighted some of the key events below:
Burnham’s St Andrew’s Church will be holding its annual Christmas Fair on Saturday 7th from 11am-3pm. There will be many tables set up in the church, along with a first chance to see the church’s life size crib scene.
Burnham and Highbridge Choral Society, pictured above, will be singing festive songs at Sanders Garden World in Brent Knoll on Saturday 7th December from 10.30am-12.30pm (and also on Sunday December 15th 12.30pm-2.30pm).
A Christmas Coffee Morning will be held by the Friends of the Community Centre on Saturday 7th December in the Burnham Community Centre from 10am-noon. The Grand Christmas Raffle will be drawn and seasonal refreshments will be served.
A Christmas Drop In will be held at Berrow Village Hall on Saturday 7th December by Brean and Berrow Residents Association from 10.30am-12.30pm. An array of stalls selling Christmas goodies will be set up and there will also be a festive raffle and bottle stall plus craft. Come along for a free mince pie and tea or coffee!
A Christmas Fair will be held by Burnham Scouts on Saturday 7th December at the Scout HQ at the BASC Ground from 1pm-3pm. There will be lots of fun and games plus a raffle, balloon modelling plus refreshments!
A Christmas Carol Service will be held at Edithmead Church on Sunday December 8th at 7pm followed by mince pies and wine at Watchfield Village Hall provided by The Watchfield Village Hall Committee.
The Towans Care Home in Berrow Road is holding a Christmas Bazaar on Saturday 7th December from 2pm with lots to keep visitors busy and entertained. There will be a raffle, tombola, refreshments, a sweet stall, craft stall and more!
A Christmas Tree Festival at St Andrew’s Church opens on Saturday 7th December with a special dedication service at 6pm.
Santa will be setting up a grotto at Bessie’s Sweet Shoppe in Burnham High Street on Saturday December 7th from 11am-2pm. £3 admission includes a gift from Santa with all proceeds going to Burnham Lions Club good causes. See Santa again at the shop on December 14th and 23rd.
Christmas Craft items will be on show at a craft fair taking place in Highbridge Community Hall in Market Street on Saturday 7th December from 2pm-5pm. All welcome!
Burnham and Highbridge Band will be holding a special concert on Sunday December 8th at East Huntspill Church at 6.30pm.
Christmas Bingo starts at 7pm on Saturday December 7th with eyes down for 7.30pm at the Bason Bridge Inn in aid of East Huntspill School.
Burnham Nursing and Residential Home is celebrating with Sister Winifred Hanson 70 years since she took her vows. A special tea with her friends will take place on Sunday 8th December at around 2pm.
