Would you like to ‘have a go’ at being an on-call Burnham-On-Sea firefighter?

-

Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service is running a ‘Have a Go’ event for anyone interested in becoming a firefighter in Burnham-On-Sea or at other fire stations.

These events will give a real overview of the role, including information on what your time commitment would be, as well as the strength and fitness expectations required.

Recruitment and Retention Officer, Caroline Anderson explained: “Being an On-Call firefighter is a big commitment. But being in a team of likeminded people, learning life skills you never expected to, is both rewarding and fun.  Why wouldn’t you want to be paid to help your community, it’s probably the best job in the world!”

An event for the Somerset West group of fire stations, which includes Burnham-On-Sea, will be held on Sunday April 14th from 9.30am-1pm.

Email your expression of interest to haveagoday@dsfire.gov.uk before the deadline of Monday April 8th.

Names will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. This opportunity is for everyone over the age of 18 who wants to do something new and challenging.
