Beach-goers in Berrow have been warned that work will be starting on Monday 15th November when Sedgemoor District Council will be constructing a new car parking area just off Coast Road at Berrow.
Burnham-On-Sea.com first reported here in July on the plans to create the new parking spaces on the access road to Berrow beach, pictured here.
A council spokeswoman told Burnham-On-Sea.com:Â “The vehicle and pedestrian access opposite Unity Farm will be closed for those two weeks to allow heavy plant and machinery to work uninterrupted to create the 30 new permanent parking spaces.”
“Once installed, these car parking spaces will be free until Easter 2022.”
“The beach itself will not be closed to walkers and can be accessed via several other points, including the car park at the nature reserve.”
Once the work is complete, the beach will re-open to vehicles over the winter period seven days a week, starting on Monday 29th November, once the work has been completed, as we reported here.
