Two Burnham-On-Sea artists are putting their work on show during Somerset Art Weeks from this weekend.
Somerset Art Weeks run from September 21st to October 6th with dozens of artists across the county taking part by holding displays and exhibitions.
George Foweraker will be showing his artistic woodturnings, pictured, and paintings in two galleries at 7 Rectory Drive in Burnahm-On-Sea.
George says: “I am a professional woodturner based in Burnham where I create a vast range of high quality products from pens, bowls, platters to wall and garden sculptures, from locally sourced native timbers.”
“Texture and colour feature prominently in my work resulting with a product thats practical, beautifully made and perfect for the home or garden.”
A collection of work by Bill Lander will also be on show at 136 Berrow Road in Burnham-On-Sea, featuring his oil paintings of landscapes, portraits and animals.
Bill says: “Now retired, having spent my working life in sales, I have re-ignited my love of painting. I studied art at college for two years but never seemed to find the time to persue it.”
“I now paint mainly in oils, on various substrates, although I favour canvas. I paint a diverse amount of subjects, including landscapes, portraits and animals. My canvasses vary in size from small to very larg
“Living in the West Country I get a lot of my inspiration from what I see around me, the Jurassic coast is a particular haunt of mine, I enjoy walking, taking my camera with me to capture scenes that I would like to paint.”
