Police have arrested a man in Burnham-On-Sea today (Thursday) after a woman suffered serious injuries and died in an incident.
Police were called to an area next to the Co-Op store in Berrow Road soon after 7.30am, as pictured here.
A green Great Western Air Ambulance landed at the nearby Burnham and Berrow golf course, but took off later without a casualty onboard.
Police spokesman Wayne Baker told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We were called to reports of a woman with serious injuries at a property in Berrow Road in Burnham-On-Sea at about 7.30am.”
“Efforts were made to revive the woman but sadly she died at about 8.15am. The death is currently being treated as unexplained.”
“A man has been arrested in connection with the incident and remains in police custody.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Burnham-On-Sea Police on 101, quoting log 0143 of Thursday.
A Great Western Air Ambulance Charity spokeswoman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “First Great Western Air Ambulance Charity critical care team were called to an incident in Burnham-On-Sea shortly after 7.30am and we were on scene within 16 minutes. Our thoughts are with the family.”
