A driver has been banned from driving for 17 months after crashing her car into the railings of a front garden in Berrow.
As Burnham-On-Sea.com first reported, the crash left buckled metal railings outside the home on the bend in Coast Road next to the village church, as pictured here.
At a hearing on July 18th, Lauren Sheppard, 26, of Dynea Road, Rhydyfelin, Pontypridd appeared in front of Taunton Magistrates.
She admitted that on June 23rd she had driven a Mini along Coast Road in Berrow with 63mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, exceeding the limit for driving of 35mcg.
She was banned from driving for 17 months, fined £300 and ordered to pay £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and £30 to fund victim services.
A Police spokeswoman confirmed to Burnham-On-Sea.com at the time: “We were called to Coast Road at around 1am on Sunday June 23rd to reports of a single-vehicle road traffic collision where a car had left the road.”
“There was significant damage to the vehicle and railings around a garden. No-one was injured or trapped inside but one person – a 26-year-old woman – was arrested.”
Police had been called just 24 hours after an earlier crash in which a car ended upside down in a garden.
