Five fire crews from across the area tackled a huge house blaze near Burnham-On-Sea early on Sunday (May 6th).
Crews were called to Withy Road in East Huntspill after several calls were received from local residents about the blaze in a derelict property.
“One fire engine from Burnham, two fire engines and a water carrier from Bridgwater, and two appliances from Weston were sent to this incident,” a fire spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“On arrival, the crews confirmed that the building was a derelict property measuring approximately 20m by 6m and the whole building was fully involved in the fire.”
Crews wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire using three water jets.
The initial calls came in at 11.41pm last night (Saturday) and the blaze was not brought under control until the early hours of today.
