A Burnham-On-Sea church is set to hold a special winter solstice service to mark the ‘shortest day of the year’ today (Thursday, December 21st).
St Andrew’s Church will hold the service at 6pm to celebrate the winter solstice and the returning of daylight. This popular service is open to all.
“The service includes live music and Solstice songs – and mulled Cider and Apple Cake will be served,” Reverend Sharon Eldergill told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“The Solstice service is an ancient way to observe the rhythm of the year, to mark the shortest day and to celebrate the returning of the light as we pass the Winter Equinox.”
“It’s a time of reflection, peace, hope and joy as we look towards the light and warmth of the sun in the sky and in our lives. Everyone is welcome to come along and be part of this special time.”
