Vandals target Burnham-On-Sea cafe in overnight attack

-

Police are examining CCTV footage of Burnham-On-Sea High Street to see whether it provides any clues about who smashed a cafe’s window earlier this week.

JJ Welsh’s, which is soon to become a Cornish pasty cafe, was attacked by vandals early on Friday morning (October 23rd), as pictured here.

Owner Jeff Welsh said he faces a repair bill of several hundred pounds.

He told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It is very annoying this has happened – it looks as though a hammer was used to deliberately break the window.”

Police have asked for anyone with information to contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

It comes just a few weeks after we reported that Burnham’s Sue Ryder charity shop, which is just a few metres down the High Street, also had a window smashed and curry sauce smeared over the inside of the shop.

JJ Welsh’s is being refurbished and transformed into the Newquay Pasty Shop, as recently reported here by Burnham-On-Sea.com.
