The Burnham-On-Sea area could be hit by strong gusts of wind of up to 50mph this afternoon (Friday), forecasters have warned.
The Met Office has issued a severe weather warning of strong winds for the area from mid-afternoon into the early evening.
The Met Office says there is a risk of potential disruption to travel, with gusts of up to 50-60mph possible in coastal areas.
“A swathe of strong winds is expected to develop across northeast England before transferring southwestwards through the morning, then the Midlands, parts of Wales and southwest England during the afternoon,” said a Met Office spokesman.
