Weather forecasters are warning Burnham-On-Sea residents to expect gale force winds today (Thursday).
The Met Office has issued a yellow warning of high winds for the region, including the Burnham area, which is in force from 9am until 9pm tonight.
“Very strong southwesterly winds for the time of year are expected,” said a Met Office spokesman.
“Gusts of 50mph are likely to develop fairly widely with gusts of 55-65 mph along exposed coasts in the south and west.”
“The public should be aware that some disruption to transport is possible along with possible damage to trees.”
