Campaigners fighting plans to build a controversial new wind farm near Burnham-On-Sea have urged local people to attend a special consultation day being held this Friday (April 8th) to rally opposition against the scheme.
The Huntspill Wind Farm Action Group is arranging its Wind Farm Public Consultation Day at Woolavington Village Hall this Friday between 10.30am and 8.00pm.
Spokeswoman Julie Trott told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The event will include a ‘walk-in presentation’ of displays and information, answers to wind farm questions, and advice on writing objection letters to Sedgemoor District Council.”
EDF Energy Renewables wants to build five wind turbines on farmland between the former Royal Ordinance Factory and the Huntspill River near East Huntspill.
The details of the new application, including the precise locations of the proposed wind turbines and the associated infrastructure, can be viewed on Sedgemoor District Council’s website or at the council’s offices at Bridgwater House in Bridgwater.
A council spokeswoman said: “Residents are welcome and encouraged to comment on the application and may do so by email to development.management@sedgemoor.gov.uk or by letter. Letters should be marked for the attention of Development Management and make reference to the application number 54/11/00004/CG.”
