Formal consultation begins this week on wind farm plans

-

Formal consultation has started this week on plans to build five new wind turbines on land near East Huntspill.

Sedgemoor District Council has received an application from EDF Energy Renewables for the turbines on farmland between the former Royal Ordinance Factory and the Huntspill River near East Huntspill and Woolavington.

The application also seeks consent for associated infrastructure which includes roads, a control building, and a permanent anemometer mast.

The public consultation period will run for 21 days from Tuesday 15th March.

The details of the new application, including the precise locations of the proposed wind turbines and the associated infrastructure, can be viewed on the council’s website or at the council’s offices at Bridgwater House in Bridgwater.

Residents are welcome and encouraged to comment on the application and may do so by email to development.management@sedgemoor.gov.uk or by letter. Letters should be marked for the attention of Development Management and make reference to the application number 54/11/00004/CG.
