Ecotricity’s bid to overturn the decision to throw out its controversial plans to build a wind farm on the outskirts of Burnham-On-Sea will not be decided until late summer, it emerged this week.
Town Clerk Eileen Shaw told Burnham-On-Sea.com that the appeal is “unlikely to be assessed by the Planning Inspectorate until August at the earliest.”
Comments from interested parties – including local councils and pressure groups including FORCE (Families For Clean Energy) and KNOll To Wind Farm – have been sent to the Planning Inspectorate.
The government department will now spend several months assessing the arguments before making its final decision on whether to overturn the August 2006 decision by Sedgemoor District Council to reject the scheme.
