Yee-haw! Wild West experience comes to Brent Knoll this weekend

-

Visitors to Brent Knoll will be able to get a taste of the Wild West this Bank Holiday weekend while raising funds for a good cause.

Sanders Garden World will be hosting a Wild West Weekend from Saturday (August 27th) until Bank Holiday Monday (August 29th) in aid of Help For Heroes.

The Boots & Saddles Western Re-enactment & Living History Club – which is based in Somerset – will be performing re-enactments throughout the weekend.

Dave Rouse, Trail Boss at the group, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We will be setting up a living history, including tents and tee-pees, for people to have an insight into how Native Americans and pioneers would have lived. Visitors to the re-enactment will be able to enter these ‘homes’ to look around and ask questions of the inhabitants.”

“Everyone involved in the re-enactment will be dressed in the style of the era and there will be mock examples of gun fights, which were typical in the Wild West during the 1800s and the Native Americans will be performing traditional dances in full regalia.”

“There will also be various Western-themed side shows and games for both children and adults to take part in, including pony rides and cactus hoopla, where contestants must attempt to throw hoops onto the arms of a cactus.”

Entrance to the re-enactment will cost £1 for adults and 50p for children. All sideshows will also cost £1 for adults and 50p for children, with proceeds going to to the charity Help for Heroes.

The Wild West re-enactment will take place on Saturday, August 27th, from 9am until 6pm and on Sunday, August 28th, and Bank Holiday Monday, August 29th, from 10am until 4pm. There will be re-enactment shows running throughout the day.
