The National Trust will be holding a special event for children on Brean Beach this Wednesday (August 13th) with a mass sandcastle building competition.
The Trust is holding a series of family-themed weekly activity days over the summer called Wild Wednesdays.
This week’s session on 13th August will be a beach sandcastle competition next to Brean Down. On 20th August the theme will be natural treasures at Brean and on 27th August the subject will be wild art.
The events run from 11am-2pm and there is a small charge of £2 per child. Parking is £3.50 per day and free for National Trust members.
“The emphasis each Wild Wednesday is to get children and their families enjoying the outdoors,” a spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“Our idea is to show kids and their parents how much fun can be had through wild play. We want to show families that this wild outdoor fun is rooted in a connection to the natural world around us and to give them the chance to experience it together as a family.”
