The widow of a Burnham-On-Sea boxer who tragically died of cancer three years ago has made an emotional return to his club to present it with a pair of boxing gloves.
Jonny Walcott was a coach and boxer at King Alfred ABC for six years, who was a talented, popular club member with lots of friends. Jonny sadly passed away, age 39, in June 2016 with stomach cancer.
A charity night is to be held in his memory on Saturday 13th April at the Ritz Social Club when an auction and raffle will be held for St Margaret’s Hospice.
His widow, Natalie, has made a special visit to the club this month to donate a brand new pair of boxing gloves to the club.
It was on the same night that Jonny’s son, Ethan, 7, began training at the club.
Natalie Walcott told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We are keen to keep the family involvement after a very emotional few years. Jonny loved it here and he would have loved to see Ethan here, and the boxing gloves being donated.”
