White Christmas now looks likely for Burnham-On-Sea area
Burnham-On-Sea looks set to have its first white Christmas for years after forecasters predicted this week’s freezing weather is due to continue into the weekend.
The Met Office has issued several new weather warnings for sub-zero temperatures and icy surfaces throughout the week, making a full thaw before Christmas Day very unlikely.
Temperatures will barely climb into single digits during the daytime and fall as low as -9 degrees Centigrade each night this week, with the weather not predicted to get milder until after the weekend.
The latest weather warning states: “There will be a continuing risk of widespread ice affecting untreated surfaces as the cold weather continues. Further snow showers are also likely, giving additional accumulations.”
