Burnham-On-Sea arts project to be featured at event on Saturday

-

A special event is to be held in Burnham-On-Sea on Saturday (September 20th) to celebrate a summer-long arts project.

The ‘Keep the Change Celebration’ will be held by arts charity Take Art at The Princess Theatre at 7pm.

The event will see a night of music and a look at the results of Burnham’s Small Change Challenge.

Back in June, people in Burnham were invited to become ‘change makers’ and over 70 people took up the challenge and received £10 to make a small but significant community change in Burnham and Highbridge.

“Bring your family, friends and, of course, yourself to hear what’s happened over the summer and find out what’s next!” said a spokesman.

“The evening will include a whole range of activities and examples of how people in Burnham and Highbridge have used their £10 challenge fund.”

“There will be live music provided by the brilliant ‘Daft Folk’ and there will be film extracts, images, stories, short plays, poems as well as artwork on display.”

“Keep the Change is about bringing the change makers of Burnham and Highbridge together with the wider general public to show and talk about all the fantastic work and mini projects that have been happening as part of Word/Play – What Change?”

Tickets are priced at £2 each (under 16s free) and include a ploughman’s supper. They are available from The Princess Theatre & Arts Centre on 01278 784464.
