Over 160 motorcyclists roared into Burnham-On-Sea on Sunday (June 25th) when one of the region’s biggest and longest-running charity motorcycle events headed into the town.
Westland’s Vintage Motorcycle Club held its 29th annual Coast to Coast Run from Lyme Regis to Burnham’s seafront.
Dozens of veteran, vintage and post-war classic motorbikes took part and the bikers were welcomed onto Burnham’s Esplanade by the town’s Mayor and Mayoress, Bill and Frances Hancock.
The Mayor’s award for the best bike went to Rod Gundry from Yeovil for his 1955 BSA A10 which he has owned for over 30 years.
The Mayor said: “I was looking for a bike that really stood out in the older categories and this one caught my eye – I know a lot about BSAs and this bike is in a superb condition for its age.”
He added: “It’s great to see this event coming to Burnham – it’s a fantastic long-running run and we welcome all the bikers.”
The bikes headed into Burnham from Lyme Regis, taking in Wells, Cheddar, Wedmore and Mark along the way.
The Coast To Coast Run has raised more than £70,000 for charity over 29 years that time – with Headway Somerset benefiting this year.
