Over 670 entries went on display at the 80th annual West Huntspill Horticultural Show on Saturday (August 18th).
Crowds flocked to Saturday’s show in the Balliol Hall where a wide range of exhibits went on display from over 70 entrants.
“We would like to thank all those who put their entries in to make it a very special show,” show secretary Jane Moreton told Burnham-On-Sea.com at the show.
The entries varied from flowers and floral art to vegetables, cookery entries and children’s classes.
The event was opened by Burnham-On-Sea and Higbridge Mayor Bill Hancock, who told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It’s fantastic to see the show going so strong after 80 years – it’s a wonderful event that brings the community together every year.”
“I was so impressed with the quality of entries after such a challenging growing season give the cold weather early on and then the heatwave.”
Outside the Balliol Hall, stallholders included the WI, church, craft makers, cakes and a bottle stall, plus a performance by the Burnham and Highbridge Town Band.
