Wet summer weather led to a drop in the number of entries at the annual West Huntspill Show on Saturday (August 16th), but the event was still declared a success by organisers.
While West Huntspill Horticultural Society said the quantity of entries fell from 775 last year to 600 this time, the overall quality was still high.
John Inder, pictured above, was celebrating after winning a haul of seven trophies, including the cup for the most points in the show’s horticultural classes and the cup for the most points in the local vegetable classes.
Show Secretary Jane Moreton told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We have had fewer entries due to a combination of poor weather and several exhibitors being unavailable, but the overall standard of the show was once again very high and we are very pleased with how it went.”
