West Huntspill School will be holding its annual Christmas Fair today (Friday 4th December) with a bumper raffle set to offer some great prizes.
The fair will be held from 3.15-5pm in the West Huntspill School Hall.
Jenny Parfitt from the Parent and Teacher Association (PTA) at West Huntspill Primary School said local business support for the event has been superb this year.
“Being a small school, with less than 80 pupils, it has always been tricky to drum up support and raise valuable funds to support the education of our children.”
“For many years we have sought the help of our wider community in helping our fundraising ventures and have been consistently supported by a few. But this year we have been astonished by the support of local businesses in providing raffle prizes for our Friday Christmas Fair.”
These include prizes from Rookery Manor Hotel and Spa, Holiday Inn, Crafty Teacup, Costa, Theo’s Barbers, Brean Play and Brean Splash to name just a few.
“This new and greatly received support has given the PTA renewed enthusiasm and encouragement. It means we can continue to support the children’s extra curricular activities and enhance their school experience.”
“This year we have arranged a pantomime to perform at the school in the lead up to Christmas and will be providing a party lunch and presents for all the classes. We have many plans for the up-coming year too, the school kitchen needs a new oven for Food Technology lessons and the school would like some netball posts for PE too to name just a few. We cannot thank these local businesses enough for all their support and kind donations.”
