West Huntspill Players are set to perform a comedy play that is sure to be a hit with audiences this week.
The award-winning drama group is performing ‘A Bunch Of Amateurs’ at the Balliol Hall in West Huntspill on April 24th, 25th, 26th and 27th at 7.45pm each night.
Director June Jenkins explains the plot: “Jefferson Steel, an American movei star, arrives at Heathrow and is expecting to play the role of King Lear at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. Find out what happens when he realises he’s in a different part of the country! We do hope you enjoy your evening and laugh as much as we have during rehearsals!”
Tickets are priced at £7 each, with concessions £6 for Wed and Thu only by calling 01278-785651.  The play is written by Ian Hislop and Nick Newman.
The players are Clare Virgo, Larry Bennett, Judith James, Alan Jarvis, Derek Baker, Monica Baker, Shaun Durkin, Greg Fear, Alastair Murray, Jessie Maddox and Amy Taylor.
The back stage crew includes June Jenkins, Harvey Gardner, David Virgo, Mary Parish, Colin Parish, Nick Gardner, Matthew Taylor, Monica Baker, Alastair Murray, Janet Holderness, David Virgo, Fred Jenkins, John Trebble, Jack Furze, David Jenkins, John Lamb and Jill Woolley.
The next West Huntspill Players production will take place this autumn, from October 30th to November 2nd 2019, and newcomers who want to get involved are welcome, whether performing on stage or behind the scenes. Go along to the hall at 8pm on Thursday May 16th. The group usually meets on the first Monday and third Thursday of every month at 8pm at the Balliol Hall.
