Curtain rises on West Huntspill Players comedy ‘Haywire’ tonight

-

Tickets are on sale for a hilarious comedy being performed by the West Huntspill Players this week.

The comedy Haywire is underway at the Balliol Hall in the village from today (Wednesday, November 26th) until Saturday at 7.45pm each night.

“This is a lively comedy written by the author of many successful TV sitcoms such as ‘Rising Damp’, ‘Only When I Laugh’ and ‘Duty Free’,” the play’s director June Jenkins told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“The funny goings-on above an old book shop featuring a dysfunctional family make for a very entertaining performance.”

Tickets, costing £6 and including refreshments, are available by calling Mary Parish on 01278 785651.

The cast is as follows: Alec Firth – Alan Jarvis, Liz – Amber McHale, Maggie Firth – Linda Bond, Phoebe Firth – Kathie Dowson, Jamie Firth – Ben Carden, Mandy Firth – Vicky Baker.

The West Huntspill Players were formed in 1973 and have produced an average of two plays per year ever since.

The group has around 35 active members, with many others who generously give up their time to help out on play nights and behind the scenes. New members are welcomed at the Balliol Hall on the first Monday and third Thursday each month at 8pm.
