A well-known band based in Burnham-On-Sea is calling it a day by announcing they will stop performing at the end of this month.
Rude Awakening posted the announcement on social media this week and said their final two performances will be held over the Christmas holiay period.
The band – described as a covers band playing songs which are seldom heard on the live circuit – have played at numerous outdoor events in Burnham-On-Sea and in local pubs and clubs over the years.
The band says: “Rude Awakening are going to take a bow and be calling it a day at the end of 2023. The last 15 years have been an absolute blast, better to end on a high.”
“We want to thank every single one of you, whether venue or supporter for sticking with us all these years. We wish you all the best, and being that all members are involved in other musical projects, we are sure our paths will cross again. Take good care, big love from us.”
Their final two gigs will be held in Bridgwater on Sunday December 17th at Bar Brunel, then on New Year’s Eve at Bar 27.
