Police say a man has been left with life-threatening injuries following a crash near Burnham-On-Sea on Sunday morning (December 14th).
Emergency crews from across the Burnham area were called to Wedmore shortly before 5.30am.
A car had left the road and crashed into a stone wall, leaving the motorist trapped inside. One casualty – a man aged 18 with serious head injuries – was rushed to hospital.
A fire service spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Crews found one male heavily trapped within the vehicle. Crews set about stabilising the vehicle and using hydraulic cutting gear to release him.”
Insp Nick Hunt from Avon and Somerset Police added: “The man suffered signifiant head trauma injuries and was taken to Southmead Hospital for treatment.”
