An updated weather warning has been issued by the Met Office as high winds are set to sweep through the Burnham-On-Sea area today (Thursday).
A yellow weather warning for strong gusts of winds is in force from 9am-midnight. Winds could reach over 50mph in places as the Atlantic storm heads through.
A Met Office spokesman said: “A spell of windy weather is expected to affect western parts of the UK.”
“Some delays to public transport are likely, and journey times could take longer. Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges likely.”
“Some local short term loss of power and other services is possible.”
“It’s likely that some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities affected by spray and/or large waves.” See the Burnham-On-Sea tide times.
