Early glimpse of Spring fades as Met Office warns of wintry weather

-

Make the most of this week’s Spring-like weather because it is about to be replaced by a return to wintry conditions, according to forecasters.

Despite blue skies and perfect sunsets over the last two days, the Met Office has issued a ‘yellow warning’ of severe cold weather for the south west – including the Burnham-On-Sea area – later this week.

It says there is a 60% probability of “severe cold weather” on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

“It will be turning colder across all areas by Wednesday as an easterly wind regime develops across England. Widespread overnight frosts are expected with a few light snow showers likely over some parts of England,” says the Met Office.

“This weather could increase the health risks to vulnerable patients and disrupt the delivery of services,” it adds.
