Crowds of visitors flocked into Burnham-On-Sea over the weekend as late summer sunshine provided a boost to the town’s traders.
Visitors on the seafront and beach, pictured, basked in temperatures of 20°C (68°F) in Burnham on Sunday (September 21st).
The unseasonal ‘Indian summer’ weather brought a boost to several businesses. The Pavilion’s Louise Parkin told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It’s been a fabulous weekend of trade following our worst August for eight years.”
Staff at Burnham’s Tourist Information Centre were also busier than normal throughout the weekend, helping deal with a surge in enquiries, while accommodation providers in the Burnham area reported a boost in bookings over the weekend.
It comes just days after Burnham-On-Sea.com reported how several businesses are shutting down after a poor summer season of trade.
