Weather forecasters have issued a warning of severe gales and heavy rain sweeping through the Burnham-On-Sea area over the next few hours.
The Met Office has issued a ‘yellow alert’ regarding the “potentially disruptive” winds of up to 60mph and heavy rain through Monday night and into Tuesday daytime.
A second storm could also hit this Thursday with possibly higher wind speeds.
“Strong winds on Monday evening have the potential to cause some disruption, especially in areas exposed to the south,” said a Met Office spokesman. “Rain will turn persistent and heavy, bringing the risk of surface water flooding.”
