A group of green-fingered Burnham-On-Sea toddlers are developing their gardening expertise thanks to a donation of pint-sized watering cans.
The Baker Toddler Group, which meets every Wednesday at the town’s Burnham Area Youth Centre in Cassis Close, are helping to maintain the centre’s recently-opened community garden.
The facilities, overseen by Burnham Dreamscheme leader John Alexander, are being used to grow vegetables for community groups.
And when John asked for help in keeping the garden watered, the Baker Toddler Group expressed an interest in helping – providing tiny watering cans could be acquired.
Julie Baker told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Unfortunately, normal watering cans are too heavy for our young hands to lift. We are so grateful that Burnham Allotments Tenants Association has come forward to help us and has presented us with ten toddler-sized watering cans. They are perfect!”
