More details have emerged this week about the UK’s national water skiing championships, which are set to return to Burnham-On-Sea this summer for the first time in over ten years.
Burnham-On-Sea.com exclusively reported last month how the UK’s leading water skiers will be flocking to the resort on Sunday August 5th during Burnham’s regatta weekend.
Talks with the British Water Ski Federation had been ongoing for several months and this week the group confirmed its schedule for the day.
The first race of the day, which will last around 50 minutes, will be a round of the national championships, and will include races for three classes.
“It will feature the very best water skiers from around the UK,” said Burnham Sailing Club Commodore Terry Moule, who is organising the event.
“A second, 35-40 minute race will follow for novices, ladies and seniors which will also be great to watch.”
“So, in all, there will be up to two hours of racing either side of the high tide at 12 noon. It should be a really fun event to watch with plenty of thrills and spills,” added Mr Moule.
