Thousands of homes across the Burnham-On-Sea area suffered low water pressure on Friday and Saturday (March 12th and 13th).
Bristol Water, the company that oversees water supplies in the area, confirmed it was investigating a fault caused by a pumping problem at a treatment works.
Jeremy Williams, spokesman for Bristol Water, told Burnham-On-Sea.com on Saturday: “A pumping problem has affected supplies in the Burnham-On-Sea and Cheddar area.”
“This has now been resolved and supplies have returned to normal. However, as we near the peak demand time of the day, we ask customers in these areas to try not to use water unnecessarily, in order to give the local service reservoirs time to recover fully. This will help avoid instances of poor pressure.”
