Hundreds of flowers, vegetables and craft exhibits went on display at Watchfield’s annual flower show near Highbridge this week.

Organiser Mary Chalker (pictured right) told Burnham-On-Sea.com the event had proved a success, with entries up on recent years.

“It was a superb day – we had a really good turnout of over 300 entries with the judges praising the children’s entries in particular,” she said.

Winners included Sara Puddy, Mrs D Wall, Henry Williams, Mary Chalker and Brian Gibbons (pictured below), John Cornish, Mary Puddy, Peter Higman, Brian Newton and Emily Cotton.

“13 year-old John Cornish did especially well and deserves a mention as he won more points than the ladies in the cookery classes,” added Mary.
