These were the scenes in Watchfield, near Highbridge, early on Saturday morning (May 24th) after an accident left a vehicle upturned on its roof.
One man was taken by ambulance to hospital following the single-vehicle crash at 6.50am.
Police and paramedics were sent to the busy junction where the B3139 joins the B3141.
Heavy rain was falling in the area at the time, leading to slippery road conditions – as pictured here – but it was not confirmed by police whether this was a contributory cause to the crash.
Police closed off the B3141, which is also known as Church Road, for several hours while emergency services dealt with the accident.
The wreckage was finally cleared from the roadway at around 8.30am, allowing the road to be fully re-opened. The nature of the man’s injuries were not immediately clear.
