Cider lovers in the Burnham-On-Sea area will be able to wish good health on apple crops for the coming year during local wassailing events in January.
The centuries-old tradition of wassailing will take place at events across the Burnham area.
Burnham-On-Sea Rotary Club, together with Rich’s Cider, will be holding an evening of traditional Wassailing at Rich’s Cider Farm on Saturday 20th January 2018 at 7.00pm.
The entertainment for the evening will be provided by the The Skimmity Hitchers & Bob Darch Music, along with the traditional ceremony. The ticket price will be £7.50 with proceeds in aid of the Bristol Kidney Patient Association and local charites. Tickets may be obtained from Richs Cider, Watchfield or by telephoning 01278 783651
Brent Knoll’s West Croft Cider Farm will also hold its wassailing evening, with a torch-lit procession, on Saturday 20th January from 7pm. Tickets are priced at £11 with accompanied children under 14 free.
Entrance will be by ticket and will include a glass of mulled cider, plus free samples of a selection of the farm’s ciders. Reserve your ticket by calling 01278 760 762 or from Westcroft Farm or Brent Knoll Village Shop. All profits will go to Brent Knoll Village School and Parish Hall.
